Another Good Run Goes Bad

The Auto Value 250 is always one of the Benjamin Motorsports race teams favorite races of the summer.  After putting up the fastest time again in practice the team thought they had a really good shot at this race again this year.

In the qualifying race the 17 car would start 5th and work there way up to 2nd by the end of the 20 laps.  That would start Travis 4th for the 250 lap main event.

At the start of the feature the team would run in 5th for the first few laps, as the race went on Travis moved up to 2nd place challenging for the lead.  At lap 100, after running 2nd the team would send the 17 car to pit road.  After the pit stop Travis would start around 20th.  By lap 150 the team was back into the 4th position.

But the car was starting to get tight and on the next caution the team would go back to work and make one final adjustment.  On the next restart two cars tangled, Travis had his car stopped and then another car came from behind and ran into the left rear tire putting the 17 car out of the race.  "Man this season has been frustrating, we've been so good, everyone is working so hard and we have nothing to show for it." Travis said after the race
